Outpatient Addiction Treatment Near Sicklerville, NJ
First, Which Sicklerville?
Sicklerville is a mailing address, not a town government. The 08081 ZIP code covers a large part of Winslow Township, roughly a third of it sits in Gloucester Township, and a small corner falls in Washington Township across the Gloucester County line.
That sounds like trivia until you need something from a government. A municipal court date is heard in your township’s court, not “Sicklerville’s.” The police who answer a 911 call are your township’s. The state counts your treatment record under the township too. If you are not sure which one you live in, your property tax bill or your voter registration will say.
We are in none of the three. South Jersey Recovery Program runs one office, at 1044 NJ-73 in Berlin, about six miles from the center of Sicklerville and a 10 to 15 minute drive from most 08081 addresses. Everything we do is outpatient. You live at home, and you come to us for treatment of substance use and any mental health condition sitting alongside it. Detox and residential treatment are not things we provide. When that is the piece you need first, we say so and help you find it.
The Drive From Sicklerville
Mostly county roads across to Route 73. No highway leg, no toll, and there is parking at the office.
Transit is the harder answer, so here it is straight. The NJ Transit bus routes that serve Sicklerville head toward Camden and Philadelphia, which is the wrong direction. The Atlantic City Rail Line stops at Atco, about two tenths of a mile from our office across Route 73, and the 554 bus runs the White Horse Pike through Berlin and Atco. Neither one is a practical way here from Sicklerville. Most people who come to us from Sicklerville drive or are driven.
Our office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and clinical staff are on site 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Partial care runs 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and IOP runs 9:30 a.m. to noon. There is no evening track, so a daytime job that cannot move is worth raising on the first call rather than after an intake.
Those hours are why a short drive is worth doing arithmetic on. Eight weeks of intensive outpatient is three to five round trips a week, more at the start than at the end, and partial care is five days a week throughout. Almost nobody leaves outpatient treatment in a single decision. They miss a Tuesday, then a Thursday, and the commute is usually the reason that sounds most reasonable at the time.
What the State’s Numbers Say About Winslow and Gloucester Townships
New Jersey publishes substance use treatment admissions by the municipality where the person lives. The latest report from the state Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the 2025 Substance Use Overview for Camden County, dated July 2026, covers calendar year 2025. Two limits come attached. Admissions are not people, since someone admitted twice in a year is counted twice, and only those who reached a licensed program that reports to the state appear at all. What follows shows who got to treatment. It does not measure how many people are using.
Winslow Township residents accounted for 315 treatment admissions in 2025. That is fifth highest in Camden County. Cherry Hill had 403 with nearly twice Winslow’s population, 74,553 to 39,907 in the 2020 Census.
Gloucester Township residents accounted for 523, second only to the city of Camden.

What the table shows is a township that looks like its county. Alcohol was the primary drug in 40 percent of Winslow admissions against 39 percent countywide, heroin in 25 percent in both, and the widest gap, other opiates at 7 percent against 10 percent countywide, is about three points. That was not the case in the state’s 2024 report, where methamphetamine (6 percent of Winslow admissions against 3 percent countywide) and marijuana (10 percent against 6 percent) both ran well above the county share. In 2025 both were within a point of it. A township with a few hundred admissions can shift that much in a year, so read any single year’s table with that in mind.
For someone in Winslow, then, the numbers do not point to a different kind of treatment than anywhere else in the county. Alcohol and heroin together account for about two of every three admissions, and medication can be part of treatment for both.
If the Drug Is a Stimulant
Most of what people know about addiction treatment comes from the opioid conversation: buprenorphine, methadone, naloxone. Little of it transfers to stimulants such as methamphetamine.
There is no FDA-approved medication for stimulant use disorder. Treatment is behavioral. What we provide is cognitive behavioral therapy, group therapy, individual therapy, and structure held over enough weeks for sleep, mood, and thinking to settle. Contingency management, a structured incentive program, has the strongest research base for stimulant use and is delivered in specialized programs. We do not run one, and you should know that before you choose us.
Two other things are worth knowing. Methamphetamine withdrawal is rarely medically dangerous in the way alcohol or benzodiazepine withdrawal is, but the depression that follows can be severe, and thoughts of suicide during it are a reason to call or text 988, or 911 if you have already hurt yourself or taken something. Our post on meth withdrawal covers the timeline. The second is supply. What is sold as a stimulant is not reliably only a stimulant, and fentanyl turns up in it. Naloxone will not reverse methamphetamine, but it will reverse an opioid if one is in there. It does not reverse xylazine or medetomidine, which now turn up in the New Jersey supply as well, so give it, call 911, and keep waiting for the ambulance even if the person stays sleepy. New Jersey pharmacies dispense naloxone without a prescription, and through the state’s Naloxone365 program anyone 14 or older can get it free and anonymously at a participating pharmacy. Keep it in the house regardless of what you think you are using.

How Much of Your Week This Takes
Level of care is mostly a question of days. Partial care runs Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., which fits someone coming out of detox or a residential stay, or someone who needs treatment to be the main thing in the week for a while. Intensive outpatient is 9:30 a.m. to noon, five days a week at first and three as you step down, and it is where most medically stable people with a safe place to sleep begin. Outpatient is one or two sessions a week, and people stay in it for months.
In partial care and intensive outpatient you also meet your individual therapist at least once a week. Groups are gender-specific, and we run groups for people managing a psychiatric diagnosis alongside substance use, which is dual diagnosis work. For opioid or alcohol use disorder, medication assisted treatment is part of the plan where it is appropriate.
One thing has to be settled before any of that. If you drink heavily every day or take benzodiazepines daily, do not stop abruptly on your own. Withdrawal from either can cause seizures and can be fatal without medical management. That needs medically supervised withdrawal first, which we do not provide and will help you arrange.
Who to Call When It Is Not Us
In an emergency, call 911. If someone is unresponsive, not breathing normally, or may have overdosed, call 911 first, then give naloxone if you have it, and if there is no response within 2 to 3 minutes give another dose in the other nostril and keep going until help arrives. Stay with them. For thoughts of suicide, call or text 988, or 911 if someone is in immediate danger or has already been hurt or taken something. If the trouble started with a court date, ask about Project SAVE. Camden County places counselors in municipal courts across the county to offer people facing non-violent charges a voluntary referral to treatment, regardless of ability to pay. Most of the county’s municipal courts take part. The court administrator in your township can tell you whether yours does. Project SAVE is a county program and we are not part of it. Separately, we do take court-mandated clients, and our case managers deal with the paperwork the court expects.
