Privacy Policy

Most privacy policies exist to protect the company that wrote them. This one exists so you know what South Jersey Recovery Program (“we”, “us”) collects through this website, what we do with it, and what you should not send us this way. It covers this website only. Your treatment records are covered by a separate notice, described below.

The One Thing to Know Before You Fill Out a Form

A phone call to us is a clinical channel.
A web form is not.

Do not send diagnoses, medications, test results, or a detailed account of your substance use through this website. Our forms are convenient, but they pass through a third-party form service and they are not read around the clock. Give us your name, a number, and the best time to call. What We Collect

What you type

When you submit a contact request, an admissions enquiry, or an insurance verification request, we receive what you entered. Usually that is a name, a telephone number, an email address, whether you have insurance and with whom, and whatever you wrote in the message field. We receive nothing you did not type.

What your browser sends

Every website receives some technical information from a visitor: an IP address, the browser and device type, the pages viewed, and the site or search that brought you here. We use one analytics tool, Ahrefs Web Analytics, to see how the site is used in aggregate. According to the vendor it is cookieless and does not identify individual visitors or follow them to other sites. We do not run Google Analytics, Facebook pixels, or advertising trackers on this site.

What We Do With It

• Verify your insurance benefits, if you asked us to
• Schedule a clinical assessment
• Keep the website running and secure
• Meet legal, regulatory, and licensing obligations

That is the list. We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We do not add you to a mailing list because you asked a question.

Who Else Sees It

Information leaves us only when it has to, and only to:

• The form service and the website host that carry your submission to us. Form submissions are handled by Web3Forms. Each provider may use the information only to deliver that service.
• Your insurance carrier, and only when you have asked us to verify your benefits.
• Authorities, when disclosure is required by law or needed to protect someone from serious harm.
• Google, which serves the web fonts on every page and the map embed on our contact page, and therefore receives your IP address when those load. We send it nothing else.

Health Information, HIPAA, and 42 CFR Part 2

Once you are a client, your health information is protected under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, or HIPAA. Because we treat substance use disorders, it is also protected under 42 CFR Part 2, a federal confidentiality rule that is stricter than HIPAA about who may see a substance use treatment record and what consent is needed first. Those protections, and your rights under them, are set out in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which you receive at admission and can request at any time.

Once your enquiry reaches us, we treat it as a confidential part of your record with us, and 42 CFR Part 2 applies to what we hold about anyone who has asked us for treatment. The caution at the top of this page is about the transit, not the destination.

How Long We Keep It and How We Protect It

We keep website enquiries for as long as we need them to respond to you and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations, then dispose of them securely. The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection with security headers that restrict what code may run on the page. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we do not promise otherwise.

Your Rights

You may ask us, at any time, to:

• Tell you what information we hold about you
• Correct something that is wrong
• Delete information we no longer have a legal reason to keep
• Stop contacting you

Children

This website is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 through it. If you believe a child has submitted a form, contact us and we will delete the submission.

Links to Other Sites

We link to outside resources such as SAMHSA. Their privacy practices are their own. Read them before you enter anything there.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. We do not announce revisions any other way, so check the date if it has been a while.
